Auctioneer or Appraiser?
Some auctioneers are appraisers, or consider themselves appraisers.
We believe performing both of these duties can present itself as a double-edged sword.
While the auctioneer markets and sells your consignments, the appraiser should have no interest in buying, but interest only in appraising value.
At Antique Acquisitions - we do not appraise, but instead, we give you a general sense of your item's value, or range.
We recommend that items of high quality with a value of $500 or more, should be appraised independently –and we have a team that can do just that!
